For those of us who have to survive freezing winter seasons, cold temperatures can have a negative impact on our skin. Our bodies like consistency in order to maintain a stable inner environment, or homeostasis, and changing seasons are the exact opposite of that.

The low humidity in the air dehydrate and deplete our skin’s protective layer. This makes it prone to inflammation and tiny abrasions and leave us feeling dry, tight, and itchy.

However, it’s not only cold weather that’s causing these uncomfortable sensations. As trees change color and days get shorter, our lifestyle changes too. We start taking hot showers, drinking less water, and cranking the heat up inside. These actions cause irritation which may even lead to dermatitis and other skin conditions.

Dermatologists suggest taking extra care of our skin during winter weather.

So in this blog article, I included 3 ways you can protect your skin this winter season.

Warm showers only!
